How apt. Four weeks since Remembrance Day when we all listened so solemnly to the familiar bugle call that symbolised the end for countless Tommies. Today I seem to be starting something new – maybe not more than a whim for a morning on the sick – and it’s First Post.
What should that sound like, I wonder. Still a bugle, or something more 21st century? Whatever, this ephemeral piece doesn’t really deserve such dignification. Mind you, if it should actually come to more than that in the distant future then at least I did it properly. Better than starting with a shaggy dog story anyway.
